Buch-Beschreibung: 6th USER FORUM THIN-FILM PHOTOVOLTAICS

The OTTI e.V., Renewable Energies, organized the 6th User Forum Thin-Film Photovoltaics in Würzburg, Germany, from 9th until 10th of February 2010. The OTTI e.V., Renewable Energies, belongs to the most respected organizers of symposia, seminares and conferences within the area of renewable energies. The actual proceedings include very interesting manuscripts and poster-presentations. The Chairman of the Forum was Prof. Dr. Bernd Rech, Helmholtz-Zentrum für Materialien, Berlin, Germany. For it is rather difficult to give a summary of all single contributions, we here only present the main points:

Modules and performance

Accelerated ageing of different thin-fi lm module types by exposure to damp heat with additional applied voltage - Dipl.-Ing. Dieter Geyer, Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung (ZSW), Stuttgart, Germany

Annealing effect in amorphous silicon - Willi Ernst, CentroSolar Group, Paderborn, Germany

Development of performance and module temperature of thin-film modules - Dipl.-Phys.Karl-Anders Weiß, Fraunhofer ISE, Freiburg, Germany

Amorphous and micromorphous Silicon thin-fi lm photovoltaics - product development process und fi eld experience - Dr. Christian Koitzsch, Bosch Solar Thin Film GmbH, Erfurt, Germany

Applications

Design of fixation- and rack solutions for frameless thin-film modules based on numerical calculations - Dr.-Ing. Cedrik Zapfe, Schletter GmbH, Kirchdorf/Haag i. OB., Germany

Bonding of the substructure - a way to reduce costs and increase durability of thin fi lm PV modules - Dipl.-Ing. Leo Scheiwiller, Sika Services AG, Zürich, Switzerland

Performance and characteristics of thin-fi lm PV technologies - Fraunhofer ISE experience from field and laboratory measurements - Daniela Dirnberger, Fraunhofer ISE, Freiburg, Germany

Capacitive discharge currents - challenges of using TL-inverters with fl exible laminates - Dr. Meinhard Stalder, SMA Solar Technology AG, Niestetal, Germany

Technology and production

Introduction to thin-film photovoltaics - Prof. Dr. Bernd Rech, Helmholtz Centre Berlin for Materials and Energy, Berlin, Germany

PV thin-film industry - Markus Monßen-Wackerbeck, EuPD Research, Bonn, Germany

Simplified integrated series connection and shunt reduction of silicon thin-film solar modules - Dr. Eerke Bunte; Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany

Packaging of thin-film solar cells - Dr. Florian Schwager, Evonik Degussa GmbH, Hanau, Germany

New Concepts

Commercial and industrial rooftops: a vast, underutilized resource which can be addressed by the Solyndra Module - Clemens Jargon, Solyndra, Holzkirchen, Germany

Nanosolar CIGS - roll-to-roll manufactured solar cells and modules - Dr. Erik Oldekop, Nanosolar International GmbH, Zug, Switzerland

Analysis of the performance ratio of a-Si thin film modules and plants in terms of a positive "effective temperature coefficient" of power - Dr. Diego Fischer, Flexcell (VHF-Technologies SA), Yverdon, Switzerland

Poster Presentations

BIPV - designing thin-film solar cells by laser - Norbert Preuß, JENOPTIK Automatisierungstechnik GmbH, Jena, Germany

Two in-situ methods to find the optimum conditions for the deposition of solar cells based on microcrystalline silicon - Dr. Aad Gordijn, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany
